What is Zoom Cares’ approach and guiding principles?

A:

Zoom Cares takes a trust-based, participatory grantmaking approach. This means that the team collaborates with advisors with deep issue area experience and lived experience to identify organizations to fund. Our team is deeply appreciative of the important role they play in bringing their perspective, proximity to solutions, and expertise.

Q:

Does Zoom Cares accept proposals for funding?

A:

The team does not accept unsolicited requests for donations. Due to the high volume of inquiries that the team receives, they are not able to meet with all interested groups.

Q:

What does Zoom Cares not fund?

A:

Generally speaking, Zoom Cares does not fund events, sponsorships, galas, scholarships, endowment funding, or lobbying of any kind.

Product Donations

Q:

Can I apply to receive free/in-kind product from Zoom?

A:

We do not accept inbound requests or inquiries for free Zoom product. Zoom Cares does offer a 50% discount on Pro and Business licenses through TechSoup for eligible organizations.

Q:

Who is eligible to receive discounted Zoom products?

A:

Eligible nonprofits must be a 501(c)(3) recognized nonprofit in the USA and its equivalent outside of the USA. More eligibility requirements can be found on TechSoup’s website.

Q:

Where can I get technical support related to Zoom’s products?

A:

Nonprofit organizations can receive technical support by searching for answers on the Zoom Support page. Nonprofits can also visit the Zoom Learning Center to receive robust training , attend live webinars on a variety of topics, and watch on-demand training videos. The Zoom Community is another great source of support where nonprofits can find answers and seek support and guidance from fellow Zoom users. If you need additional help, submit a ticket and our support team will help address your concerns.

Where can I access Zoom’s 50% product nonprofit discount?

A:

Nonprofits can access Zoom’s product discount on TechSoup’s website.

Q:

What Zoom products does the nonprofit discount apply to?

A:

The 50% discount code can be applied to the purchase of up to 99 Zoom Meetings Pro and Business licenses with specific meeting add-ons such as Zoom Webinar or Large Meetings.

Q:

If I already have an existing paying account, can I use the discount code?

A:

If you already have an existing paying account, you must wait until the payment period is over before activating the discount code to your account.

Q:

How long does the discount apply to an account?

A:

The discount code is applied to your account once per fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) and lasts for 12 months.

Employee Support

How can I get pro-bono volunteering support from Zoom employees?

A:

We do not formally accept inbound requests for pro-bono volunteering support from Zoom employees. Zoom employees are encouraged to volunteer and are provided opportunities to do so.

Q:

Do Zoom employees volunteer in person, or also virtually?

A:

Zoom employees are able to volunteer both virtually and in person depending on the event, location, and safety level.
